What is SGNL?
In 2018 Korean startup company Innomdle Lab has designed a smartwatch strap that allows users to receive phone calls by simply raising their finger to their ear. This band is Presented at the Consumer Electronics Show this week, the Sgnl wristband can be worn on its own, or can replace a traditional watch or smartwatch strap to deliver fingertip communication.
How SGNL works?
If we talk about that how this SGNL technology works then the answer is Body Conduction Unit. To understand the whole process of this technology then first of all we have to understand the Body Conduction process.
Body Conduction Process
Conduction is the process of losing heat through physical contact with another object or body. For example, if you were to sit on a metal chair, the heat from your body would transfer to the cold metal chair. Convection is the process of losing heat through the movement of air or water molecules across the skin.
Working of SGNL
Sngl is using what it calls a body conduction unit. It relies not only on bone, but also on tendons, ligaments, and other tissue to pass the vibrations from your wrist, through your fingers to your ear. The body conduction unit is an obvious bubble on the underside of the wristband. You need to wear it so it comes into contact with the knob of bone that forms the outer part of your wrist. The band can be used as a stand-alone unit, or fitted to a regular analog watch or. It can be used with any watch. As demonstrated by SGNL with an APPLE WATCH. So in other words we can say that this SGNL band is multipurpose technology. It can be used with watches as demonstartaed by company OR it can be use as a single band.
